What an event put on by the Palmerston Game Fishing Club yet again, My self and my wife were very honoured again to be a part of PGFC’s Buddy Boats for 2017. Buddy Boats is an event were the awesome people from the Palmerston Game Fishing Club take out the wonderful people from HPA in conjunction with Total Recreation for a half day fishing and then head back to the club for a BBQ lunch. For those that are not aware HPA is “Helping People Achieve” its a non-government not-for-profit organisation that has been providing services to Territorians with physical and intellectual disabilities since 1963, in the Darwin and Palmerston areas.
I want to say thanks to Kristen Knoble and Mark Baily for coordinating the event this year again and say thanks to all that were involved organising and giving your boats up, making it a great day for everyone involved. There were a lot of fish caught this year with every buddy getting a fish to the boat, a lot of Goldie’s and bream were the main contender but some decent Cod and Mud crabs did also make it on to some boats.
Was a fantastic day considering the weather was not in our favour with the wind picking up just before midday making it a bit rough to really hard escape from the confines of the Elizabeth river. But we made with what was available and fish were still on the bite.
As unfortunate my boat was out of action awaiting parts for the gear box but thanks to Wendy and Brian for lending us there boat so we were able to participate.
