Went out to Kakadu on a late night run chasing the elusive Barramundi. A good mate Jordan and I ended up getting out there early and getting the little tinny out and flicking a line. We worked some heavy structured areas sounding fish but had troubles getting them to strike maybe due to the water temp being a tad on the cold side. Never the less we continued on, was slow going so we changed our tactics and moved spots.
We got a few hits as we worked really tight structure that we were sounding up, obviously loosing a few lures along the way (but it’s part of the fun). Just a bit before lunch boof we were on and first Baz to the boat. That’s when the turning point of the day happened as we picked up heaps of rats and a few solid fish with the biggest sizing in at 77cm. Do have to give a special mention to my new Zeikel Speedy rod was awesome bit of kit and was a also complimented by Jarvis Walker Brands Quantum HD reel. Can’t wait for the next trip all pumped ready for it.
